This village obtain its name from the "mengkuang" plants that grow in abudance around the village. This plant has long sharp, serrated sword-like leaves. Kampung Mengkuang Titi, with its nearly 1,000 residents still retain its rustic traditional charm and way of life. Agriculture and cottage industries are still the main sources of income for locals. The village is accessible by any menas of road transport. It is located about 32 km from Georgetown via Penang Bridge. If you are from outside the Georgetown vicinity, you could take a bus to the Butterworth terminal and then get a taxi ride straight to Mengkuang Titi.
